St. Jude Leadership Society
Meiya is an integral part of St. Jude's Leadership Society and has vowed to eradicate childhood cancer from the face of the planet! Meiya met her goal in 2023 and has now advanced to the position of peer advisor in 2024 where she continues to raise money while advising other students on how to meet their goals. Thank you for your continued support! You may continue to contribute to Meiya's fundraising efforts by donating directly to St. Jude, commissioning artwork, or participating in upcoming events!

Thank you to everyone who helped Meiya reach her goal of raising $2,500 to help St. Jude eradicate childhood cancer! A special thanks to Coach Dan Shultz and Coach Alyson Hannan for helping make the MTAC Ladder Ball event possible! 2023 Fundraising Activities
Meiya was selected for St. Jude's Leadership Society and she has made a commitment to help St. Jude reach their goal of curing 100% of their patients! Meiya raised over $1,400 in 2 minutes at Arlington High School.
Rotunda Run

Thank you to the Arlington Student Council and everyone involved (students, faculty, and staff) for helping to make this event a success. I love being a part of this council and am excited to think about all of the things we are achieving together!
Ladderball at Memphis Thunder Aquatic Club
Meiya facilitated a game of ladderball to raise funds and awareness for St, Jude. with her USA Swimming teammates. Prizes were awarded to the top three scorers and this last minute fundraising event helped put her over-the-top in reaching her goal!
Artwork Commissions
Meiya is an accomplished artist that just sold her first piece at the 2023 Arlington High School Art Show (see 'David Bowie' below) and she was recently awarded 3rd Place in the 2023 Ag Day International Agricenter Art Contest.
The first piece shown here (woman and dog) was commissioned as a Mother's Day present where Meiya captured the likeness of both the mom and her dog.
The second piece was commissioned as a birthday present and depicts the infamous Michael Myers hard at work! The rough textures capture the raw spirit of Myers and his psychotic and violent malevolence.
The third piece was requested to be a self-portrait. Meiya painted herself having tea at the historic Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis. She was not a giant tea fan until Executive Chef Adreas Kisler of Chez Phillipe introduced her to the art of infusion.
Meiya is going to continue to accept commission requests so that she may continue fundraising for St. Jude. However, moving forward, a portion of the funds raised will be used to cover material expenses for paint, canvas, etc.
Meiya lost her grandmother, Charlotte Rollins, in the early winter of 2023 to cancer. Charlotte was also a talented artist and continues to inspire Meiya in her artistic and philanthropic endeavors. Her grandmother would be super proud of her accomplishments and partnership with St. Jude. Charlotte was a giant supporter of St. Jude and the arts.
Meiya has lost other members of her family to cancer, but there are also several courageous survival stories that inspire her and give her hope. Her grandfather, Gary Harris, is another major inspiration in her life who was able to conquer stage four cancer in his early sixties and is now well into his seventies.
Meiya will not accept that young children should deal with the same afflictions, hardships, and pain that she has witnessed her adult family members endure. She is a passionate humanitarian that continues to dedicate her time to fighting for the lives and welfare of young people.

Agriculture as Part of Your Life
Meiya won 3rd Place for a colored pencil drawing reflecting the theme "Agriculture as Part of Your Life." The award included a luncheon, a cash prize, a Certificate of Recognition from the Mayor of Shelby County, a Certificate of Achievement from Agricenter International Education and the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, and a Certificate of Recognition from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.
